An estimated 30 million people are living with some form of major age-related eye disease. This figure translates into billions of dollars spent each year on medical costs, nursing home care, informal care costs, quality of life losses, and productivity losses. As baby boomers enter retirement age, it is imperative to address the impact of eye disease on this growing population.
Join us as we raise awareness about the implication of age-related vision issues on the public health of our nation. The symposium will coincide with the release of a new vision report—The Economic Impact of Vision Problems: The Toll of Major Adult Eye Disorders, Visual Impairment, and Blindness on the U.S. Economy.
